Preparing Thesis

Preparing my thesis...

I am involved in a Master's program about Educational Technologies. My dissertation is about The Curriculum within a Community of Practice (CoP). I chose this topic because I am very interested in studying Learning Communities/CoPs that operate in virtual environments.

I first experience an online Learning Environment (OLE) in the first semester of the Master's program. It was a great experience and I learned a lot. At that time we were also invited to experience other communities and so I joined the Webheads in Action (WiA). I am glad I did. It has been an extremely rewarding experience.

I was then asked to come up with an investigation topic. I almost panic, although I had the solution right in front of me. Choosing the WiA to be my object of analysis was the obvious answer. I will be observing the group in their daily practice, will analyse data and create a questionnaire.
